"Zone of Risk - Transition"

"Zone of Risk - Transition" features artwork reflecting cultural and societal transformations and the risks generated by such changes - revolutions, local conflicts, rise in crime, and economic crises. The instability produced by social and economic shocks reveal the duality of these shifts: if for some this period is the catalyst for a deep depression, for others it holds a myriad of opportunity. 26.03.05 What is going on in Kyrgyzstan.

24 марта все началось с того, что группа парней в гражданском с синими повязками на головах c деревянными дубинками и щитами попытались разогнать многотысячный мирный митинг на площади Ала Тоо. On March 24, everything started when a group of young guys wearing civil clothes with blue bands on their heads and wooden cudgels and boards tried to disperse a multi thousand peaceful meeting on the Ala Too square. People did not like it very much and then it was already impossible to stop them. As a result: beaten Police, grasped and ruined Government, burnt down service cars. Even the leaders of opposition have not expected this. Neither did the people themselves expect it. That is why the excited youth vented the rage on computers, furniture, and other property. The Akaev’s chair and two governmental cars got the most of it. The chair was bent, broken and thrown out the window and the cars were crushed and burned. No one was ready for such a quick turn and, of course, no one now had a chance to stop the robbery in the white house.
