ArtEast Summerschool with participation of Cascoland
The ArtEast Summerschool is a logical continuation of the ArtEast School for
Contemporary Art - course and will take place in July 2009 in Kyrgyzstan.
After a half year introduction into the history of contemporary art this final
trajectory will focus on the 'Practical implementation of site-specific work''
in collaboration with Cascoland artists. Students can use any media such as:
objects, installations, performances, site specific work, video, photo. The
main condition is to realize the project in public space.
The summerschool will consist of - workshops by Fiona de Bell and Roel Schoenmakers
with the artists/students on working in public space with audience participation
- research-trip/gathering of materials and idea's in the central highlands of
Kyrgyzstan
- practical implementation of mobile interventions/architecture/actions at a
location in Bishkek in collaboration with Cascoland artists
- presentation of results at a mini festival in Bishkek
- possibility for some of the students to participate in Trailerpark summerschool
at kunstfort Vijfhuizen, the Netherlands, immediately after the ArtEast summerschool
in August
